To Whom it May Concern: My name is Diana Codispoti, and I am Director of Global Corporate Engagement at Disability:IN, the leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide. I am honored to write this letter of recommendation in support of Michael McCulloch’s film, “One Step at A Time – A Journey of Hope, Commitment and Resiliency”, nomination for the 2023 Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award from the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). I have not only had the honor and privilege of knowing Michael over the last five years, but I have also had the opportunity to work with him closely over the last two years. Michael embodies what it means to be a true leader, providing inspiration and guidance, while exhibiting passion, commitment, and ambition. He is a positive influence on all those around him. Michael’s film, “One Step at A Time – A Journey of Hope, Commitment and Resiliency”, is not only a true testament of his character but also his resiliency. His mission and focus, to empower the blind community to overcome barriers and that there are no limits to what can be achieved, is clear throughout the film. Michael invites you to follow him along, making you feel like you are a crucial part of something extraordinary, not only helping him achieve his dream of completing the four-day trek along the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, Peru, but also in challenging some of the universal stigmas of people with disabilities – helplessness and hopelessness. Michael’s perseverance is unwavering. Exceeding the challenging requirements and expectations for the award, Michael's ambition, determination, and accomplishment complement the amazing community of past recipients and make him and his film highly deserving of the honor given by the 2023 Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award from the NFB. I give Michael and his film, “One Step at A Time – A Journey of Hope, Commitment and Resiliency”, my highest recommendation. Sincerely, Diana Codispoti
